Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most from clients across Covington, KY and beyond.

General & Getting Started

What areas does JHProIT serve?

JHProIT is based in Covington, KY, and proudly serves individuals and small businesses throughout Northern Kentucky and the Greater Cincinnati area. Remote support is available anywhere.

Do you offer free consultations?

Yes! We offer a free initial IT assessment to understand your needs and recommend the right solution — with no pressure or obligation to purchase anything.

How quickly can you respond to a support request?

Most support requests are addressed the same business day. Managed IT plan clients receive priority response times as outlined in their plan.

Do you work with individuals, or only businesses?

Both! JHProIT was built to serve everyone from homeowners with a slow laptop to small businesses that need full network and cybersecurity support.

Repairs & Support

Can you fix my computer remotely?

Many software issues — including slow performance, virus removal, and configuration problems — can be resolved remotely using secure remote access tools, with your permission at every step.

What if my computer needs a hardware repair?

For hardware issues, such as a cracked screen, failing battery, or damaged components, we offer on-site or drop-off repair. We'll always diagnose the issue and give you a clear quote before any work begins.

Do you repair both PCs and Macs?

Yes, we support both Windows PCs and Mac devices, along with most major laptop and desktop brands.

Is there a warranty on repairs?

Yes. Most labor is covered by a 30-day service warranty from the date of repair. Replacement parts may carry a separate manufacturer warranty. Full details are outlined in our Terms of Service.

Cybersecurity & Data

Will you access my personal files during a repair?

No. We only access what's necessary to complete the requested service and never view, copy, or retain personal files, photos, or browsing history beyond that scope. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Should I back up my data before a service visit?

Yes, we strongly recommend it. While we take precautions during every repair, we always advise clients to maintain an independent backup of important data beforehand, especially in cases of failing hardware.

Can you help set up antivirus and firewall protection?

Absolutely. Cybersecurity setup, including firewalls, endpoint protection, and threat monitoring, is one of our core services and is included in all Managed IT plans.

What should I do if I think I've been hacked or phished?

Contact us immediately. Disconnect the affected device from the internet if possible, and avoid entering any passwords until we can assess the situation.

Managed IT Plans

What's the difference between one-time service and a Managed IT plan?

One-time services address a specific issue as it comes up. Managed IT plans provide ongoing monitoring, maintenance, and priority support so problems are caught and often prevented before they cause downtime.

Can I cancel or change my Managed IT plan later?

Yes. Plans can be upgraded, downgraded, or cancelled with 30 days' written notice, as outlined in your service agreement and our Terms of Service.

How many devices are covered under each plan?

Essentials covers up to 2 devices, Business covers up to 10, and Enterprise offers unlimited device coverage. Visit our Managed IT Plans page for full details.

Billing & Payment

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major credit and debit cards, ACH bank transfer, and other methods made available at the time of service. Managed IT plans are billed monthly or annually.

Will I know the cost before work begins?

Yes, always. We provide a clear quote or estimate before starting any paid work, so there are never any surprise charges.

Do you charge a diagnostic fee?

A small diagnostic fee may apply for in-depth troubleshooting, but it is waived if you proceed with the recommended repair.
